To Utilise Natural Texture

Taking natural texture to new heights, James Nicholson created a

supernatural silhouette by ensuring each section mimicked the

motion of natural hair. He began with LEAVE-IN.REPAIR and diffuse-

dried the hair while moulding with his hands. Next, he added in

hair wefts and HAIR.RESORT, and worked a medium tong in and

out to create flat bends before laminating with BEDROOM.HAIR.

The cover story for P Magazine’s Nº6 edition, Magic, combined two Instagram all-stars – Jennifer Steinglen and Bambi Northwood-Blyth – at an iconic seaside hotel to dive into shifting perception, letting go, and the freedom that comes along with it. To capture the sentiment, James Nicholson created a “supernatural” look that combined the intentions of the issue and the spirit of all involved – mysterious, powerful, and free.

Vibrant colours and an endless array of sneakers make up most of the vibe behind Emili Sindlev a.k.a the “Danish Carrie Bradshaw” featured in this shoot for Elle Denmark. Creating the look, Marianne Jensen created a hairstyle that let her natural texture and distinct personality shine through.

WINDSWEPT WAVES

With brilliant natural texture to start with, Marianne prepped the

hair with BODY.BUILDER and ANTI.GRAVITY to maintain volume. To

accentuate her waves she then applied WAVE.CLIPS throughout

leaving a few pieces free in the front, which she touched up with

a small iron. After blowdrying and cooling, she raked through

with the TEXTURE.COMB and finished with DOO.OVER too add

movement and hold to this effortlessly windswept finish.

crafted to enhance the multi-tonal nature of hair colour in all

the right places. Utilising LEAVE-IN.REPAIR, and a layer of

MOTION.LOTION cocktailed with HAIR.RESORT, James hand

moulded the hair while air-drying before strategically framing

the face with a medium tong. Laminating with DOO.OVER was

key to create a “well-rested” appearance before finishing with

SESSION.SPRAY FLEX for workable staying power.

It’s beautiful, the way a location can influence a photoshoot, which is often the case when on set with KEVIN.MURPHY. At this particular location, crystal chandeliers, modern frescoes and marble-covered walls set the landscape for the enchanting 2019 CRYSTAL.TWILIGHT collection, stimulating an unconventional evolution for the modern-day trendsetter where waves have become opulent yet coveted for their casual nature.

natural texture and utilising products and tools when necessary.

Applying only STAYING.ALIVE and ANTI.GRAVITY and starting with

the fringe, Marianne softly blowdried this area with a smoothing

brush and then rough dried the rest of the hair to add undone

texture.
